EU enlargement in times of crisis: responding to new challenges
26. - 30.03.2012, EU training for FES project coordinators from the Western Balkans and Turkey
This EU training is designed for 16 FES project coordinators from Belgrade, Berlin, Istanbul, Prishtina, Skopje, Sofia, Tirana and Zagreb. Besides reviewing and deepening the general understanding of EU policies and decision making mechanisms, the main focus will be put on analysing the internal challenges which the EU is currently facing (i.e. financial and economic crises, re-nationalisation process) and the possible impact of this changing context on the EU enlargement process. On the agenda are lectures and debates with experts and political decision makers from EU institutions, think tanks and media as well as visits to the EU institutions followed by an internal FES-workshop for drawing conclusions for future FES activities in the region.
