Shaping a progressive future – Democracy in Europe

Trans-European online debates, 28 October, 14h00 – 16h30

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung contributes to the debate on the future of Europe by organizing a series of trans-European online workshops to develop a progressive vision for Europe.

In our first round of debates, organized in cooperation with the Institute for European Politics (IEP), we focus on the topic of Democracy in Europe. Together with partners and participants from all over Europe, we will discuss how to:

  • Make European Parliament elections more meaningful
  • Take decisions more bottom-up and make participative democracy work
  • Fight back autocratic tendencies and illiberalism in Europe

Find out more about those topics and the core questions that we will debate by watching our video or reading the briefing paper below.

The first two workshops take place on Wednesday, 28 October and Wednesday, 25 November from 14h00 – 16h30 CET each. The discussions take place in English.
